When Times Were Tuff

Sitting in my home

By candlelight

I wonder how

To make things right

~~~~~~~~~
Struggling so much
Each and every day
How did it all
End up this way
~~~~~~~~~

No heat to warm

My babies milk

No way to cook

Just to much guilt

~~~~~~~~~
I feel so helpless
Like there's no way out
I want to scream
Just rant and shout
~~~~~~~~~

My daughter asks me

What's for tea

And why she cannot

Watch tv

~~~~~~~~~
What do you say
To a little girl
Who does not understand
This world
~~~~~~~~~

The harder you work

In this life today

The further you fall

Along the way

~~~~~~~~~
So how do I then
Go and pick myself up
I have faith that in time
I'll get help from above
What DO you say to a little girl, who doth not understand this world? $64,000 question. My 17 yr old neice text me the other day and asked me why her new boyfriend wanted her to go to the pharmacy and buy 20 packs of Sudafed! It is the key ingredient in the making of methamphetamine and they have the info in a huge database on a federal level of all the people who buy it and he was trying to "mule" her, as they say. I really would like to know what you say to a little girl who does not understand the world...if you ever figure it out. lol :D Voted up and awesome,just like you mate...W
The world is in recession as we discover how deep in debt countries have driven themselves with burdensome social programs and how excess government regulation on business has stifled the economy.
Hopefully, we can rectify all that.
Good Hub, Skellie!
Wow! Walt mate, sounds like she has hooked up with a beauty :(
Your neice must trust her own gut instinct, to some extent. She would not have sent you a text otherwise. In her own heart, she knew there was something not right with the situation.
The basic grounding is there, for a positive outcome.
Have faith mate that the answers will come to you.
Thankyou mate, Cheers Skellie
Yes I hope so as well, WillStarr :)
It would be so nice for people to not have to struggle. Over here it is workcover and super, that burdens small business. The social programs just do not work. Most of them are designed by people who have never experienced hardship.
Thankyou for your great comments :)
Skellie; you write very powerfully about the very difficult times many find themselves in through no fault o their own. I can only hope that things improve and “the powers that be” wake up to what works and what doesn't in these troubled times.
Thankyou Genna East :) I wrote this poem about three years ago, just before we started our business. Things have improved a lot for my family but there are so many others, out there struggling. Yes, lets hope "the powers that be" wake up to themselves.
A very powerful poem! I like it very much and the pictures are perfect. It's too bad we have to go through tuff times and so many are right now. This is when we must be brave and have faith. This is also a time for a wake-up call to those "in charge". Voted UP!
Thankyou Vocalcoach :) Faith is the only thing that will get you through, during those hard times. Some may simply call it positive thinking. Either way, it will bring you through smiling. The people in charge of Australia, should all be voted out - lol.
Thanks for the vote and great comments.
Cheers Skellie
